Chemical Peels
The skin is the body’s largest living organ, it also happens to be the most exposed.
Everytime we step outside, we expose our skin to harmful ultraviolet rays, changes in climate, pollutants and other elements that cause damage to the skin. Peels can significantly improve the appearance of skin imperfections such as, fine lines and wrinkles, irregular texture, dull and sallow skin hyperpigmentation and acne. Exfoliation of the skin is key to maintaining healthy functioning skin.
The skin naturally reproduces cells and brings new cells to the surface, however as we age this process slows down resulting in an abnormal buildup of cells. A peel provides a deeper exfoliation of the outer most layer of the stratum corneum, which in turn stimulates both cellular turnover and the internal structure of the skin, to activate and energise fibroblasts and collagen synthesis. Exfoliation of the skin also allows for optimal penetration of subsequently applied active ingredients.
Lift Aesthetics's range of peels provide a non-invasive procedure for clients seeking highly visible results and can be customised to provide the level of exfoliation required.
All skin types will benefit from chemical peels regardless of skin condition, age, gender and ethnic background. Consultation required.

FAQ'S
Who are the best candidates for peels?
Generally those who suffer from acne, congestion, blackheads, sun damage and fine lines will benefit from peels. In terms of acne, the lactic acid removes the top layer and salicylic acid (BHA) penetrates the follicles to help unblock pores, reduce inflamed skin and remove trapped oil and dead cells. For those suffering from surface pigmentation and sunspots, AHA’s help to lift surface cells which hold the uneven surface pigmentation. Clients with fine lines will find that a series of AHA peels will note a reduction in the appearance of fine surface lines, as exfoliation causes the skin to regenerate new cells more efficiently and remove rough surface cells.

How long will my recovery be after a chemical ?
The actual time of recovery and level of peeling will be determined by the type of peel chosen and the depth of the peel . The more down time, the better the result, but not everyone is prepared for “down time”. This is what will be discussed with you at your consultation.
